September 2017: Starting a Garden

WELCOME TO OUR FIRST MEETING OF 2017!

We are pleased to announce that on at 7pm on Monday, September 11, 2017, Valerie has volunteered to host our first meeting of the year, in her beautiful garden. She will share her incredible journey about finding her way in gardening. Come see everything from her grapes and watermelon, to corn and kale – you won’t want to miss this!
Valerie will discuss why it was important for her to start the garden, where she found inspiration and what she did to get started. She will share her story as to how it has helped her get back in touch with nature, and in turn, get in touch with herself. In her presentation, she will provide before and after pictures, information about seeds used and when she planted them, as well as how she worked with her son through Grow Detroit to create her vision.
Appetizers, wine, non-alcoholic beverages and other refreshments will be served – including fresh veggies and other delicious items grown from Valerie’s very own garden!
Members, please consider inviting a neighbor or prospective member, our goal is to reach 50 members this year. See your meeting notice for more news and information.
Guests are always welcome, please contact <kathleenkrasity@yahoo.com> for more information.
