Charles Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit’s Cultural Center

Our next meeting is Monday, February 11, 2017 at Betty’s lovely home. Be sure to admire her new kitchen! At 7:00pm, we start with time to meet, greet and enjoy the delicious refreshments our hostess will provide. Wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. A brief business meeting will start at 7:30pm. Our program starts at 8:00pm. 

LaNesha DeBardelaben

We are pleased to have LaNesha DeBardelaben as our speaker this month. She is Senior Vice President of Education and Exhibitions at the Charles Wright Museum of African American History.  LaNesha serves on the national Executive Council of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) and Crain’s Detroit Business included her as one of the outstanding 40 Under 40 in 2015. Her research interests include black women’s intellectual history, history of African American higher education and the civil rights struggle in the North. This evening, she will speak to us about African American History Month at the Charles Wright Museum. To learn more about the museum go to:  Wright Museum.
