Home featured on this year’s Holiday Tour.
The Indian Village Woman’s Garden Club Festive Holiday Tour was Sunday, December 7, 2014. All profits will be used for the Artelia Bowne Court Scholarships. The Holiday Tour is our only scholarship fundraiser. Through the years, over $100,000 has been provided help to students from Indian Village and surrounded neighborhoods.
The Holiday Tour featured five homes in Detroit’s Historic Indian Village. Each home was beautifully decorated for the holidays The tour started at Iroquois Avenue Christ Lutheran Church. Tickets were distributed and docents organized tour groups. Coffee and cookies will be served as people waited for their group to depart. Each group was accompanied by two Woman’s Garden Club docents.
The “surprise location” for Holiday Tour afterglow was Craftwork, a new restaurant and bar which had recently opened the Villages. Light refreshments, included in the price of the ticket, were served. Wine was available. It was a lovely afternoon and a great start to the holiday season.
Planning has started for the 2015 Holiday Tour. Information will be posted by late summer.
