January 13, 2020: Gardens of Ancient Persia

 

Chehel Sotoun pavilion, built by Shah Abbas II (1632 AD-1666 AD), has a beautiful reflecting pool. It was inspired by gardens at Pasargadae, capital of Achaemenid Empire under Cyrus the Great (599 BC-529 BC).

Monday, January 13, 2020 at 7:00pm, we will meet at Kayla’s* beautiful, historic Indian Village home. From 7:00 to 7:30, we will have time to greet fellow members and catch up on what has happened since the last meeting. Refreshments, including wine, will be served. At 7:30, we will have a brief business meeting. The recent scholarship fundraising Holiday Home Tour and VIP Gala will be discussed.

Ed Blondin

At 8:00p, our speaker Ed Blondin will present his favorite program: Gardens of Ancient Persia and How They Influence Gardens Today. Ed is owner of Hortulus Gardens in Lathrup Village. He is well known for his landscape designs and garden lectures.
